Description of the job

A vacancy for an intern (f/m) has arisen within the Human Factors Engineering department at Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Blagnac.

Human Factors mission is to contribute to safety and customer's operations efficiency, by ensuring that Airbus is considering the Human performance and limitations into its research, development, certification, production, customer support activities for its Product, Services and Processes. Minimize human operator workload and errors, enable effective abnormal situation responses and enhance task performance is part of the mission.

Human Factors aim at ensuring the link between people and their activities. Human factors professionals contribute to defining and validating a large number of products: 'Human Machine Interaction" principles and solution, as well as operational documentation, maintenance operations, human operators training programs…. They also contribute to the safety demonstration and certification of the Human Factors aspects. This purpose is resulting from the application of Human Factors knowledge and methods all along the Products/Services life cycle. The main competences related to the HF job are: cognitive psychology, ergonomics, linguistics, physiology, health and safety, aeromedicine, education, sociology.

This 6 months internship will start from January 2019 at the earliest.

Tasks & accountabilities

Recent studies in neurosciences show promising perspectives to better understand information integration processes.

The high-level objectives of this internship are:
* To perform a preliminary review to identify theoretical frameworks of information integration. The aim of this review is to identify commonalties and differences between theories and to be able to determine the degree of maturity of these frameworks to be applied in a more operational environment (Airbus Commercial Aircraft).
* To study the process underlying the integration of information at a neural and cognitive scales by investigating the methodology (experimental set up…) and the potential physiological markers, etc.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

You have the following skills and experience:
* You are in Bac+5 degree level (or equivalent) specialized in Neuroscience or Cognitive Psychology.
* You have skills in experimental methodology, statistics and signal processing
* And a strong interest in Aircraft operations & pilot's tasks
* Moved by a strong innovation spirit, you've already proven during your previous experience your ability to work on applied research topics.
* Soft skills:
* Working in multidisciplinary team, you're open minded and trustworthy.
* You're able to explain and justify your position in a clear, accessible and synthetic way.
* Sharing subjects and supporting others is a natural behavior for you.
* Ability to learn and work easily on different subjects
* Rigor, ability to work autonomously
* Languages:
* Advanced level of English
* French Intermediate level is a significant plus
